Here are 5 top museums to include in your travel plans.

The Whitney Museum of American Art, one of the top museums in New York City, is a modern white building with angular lines, set amid trees and a bustling street out front.

New York City offers some of the best museums in the world. They are all very different, so there’s usually one that you fits your taste. I have made a list of my favorite museums, what you can expect and why you should visit.

As you may know, this is where the MET Gala is held. The Gala is an event held annually on the first Monday of May, which marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. If you are in the city, you might be lucky to spot a few celebs.

Other museums in New York

Of course there are so many other great museums in New York to visit, like The 9/11 Tribute Museum, The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum or The Frick Collection. Visiting museums can be time-consuming. So if you only have a couple of days in the city, it’s probably best to visit just the ones you’re interested in most. Missed a few? Don’t worry, it’s a great excuse to come back to NYC again soon 😉!

Have another museum that I should add to the list? I’d love to hear in the comments.

Please note that the opening hours and ticket prices may be subject to change. I highly recommend checking the official websites of each museum when making plans.
