1. Midtown

Midtown Manhattan is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and busy districts in the city. Stretching from 34th Street to 59th Street, it is home to the famous Times Square, Empire State building and Grand Central Station. In Midtown, you’ll find Fifth Avenue, a great place to shop with luxury brands like Tiffany & Co. Or you can visit MoMA if you are into Art. And make sure to relax in Central Park which is just a stunning green space in the middle of the city.

2. Greenwich Village

Known for its Bohemian vibe, tree-lined streets, and charming brownstones, Greenwich Village is one of the most beloved neighborhood’s in New York. This area has always been a center for artists and musicians. Visit Washington Square Park, a popular gathering spot where you can enjoy live music and street performances. Make sure to try the legendary pizza at Joe’s Pizza, a local favorite that has been serving slices since 1975.

3. SoHo & NoHo neighborhood’s

SoHo, short for South of Houston Street, is famous for its cobblestone streets, cast-iron industrial buildings, and high-end shopping. This trendy area in New York is the place to be for fashionistas, with designer boutiques. Once you are here make sure to try its great food scene, offering a variety of cafés, bakeries, and restaurants.

4. Chelsea

Located on the west side of the borough you find Chelsea this place is famous for its thriving art scene and trendy nightlife. Here you find also the High Line, an elevated park built on a historic freight rail line. Start your journey at Hudson Yards and take a walk along this park. Make sure to stop at Chelsea Market. A historic food hall that offers a variety of gourmet treats, unique shops, and trendy eateries. It’s a great place to enjoy delicious food.

5. Meatpacking District

Once an industrial area, the Meatpacking District is now one of the coolest areas in New York because of the many fashionable boutiques, trendy nightclubs, and chic restaurants. 

Visit the Whitney Museum of American Art, which showcases a renowned collection of contemporary American art.

6. Financial District

Situated at the southern tip of Manhattan, Financial District (FiDi) is the economic heart of New York City. This is the place where you will find Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Charging Bull statue. If you have time visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, or just enjoy a walk trough Battery park and take a ferry to Staten Island for amazing views of the Statue of Liberty. Ofcource instead of the staten island ferry you can also book a boat trip to Ellis Island.

7. East Village

One of the areas that is known for its youthful energy and eclectic culture. This area is home to a thriving music scene, with numerous live music venues showcasing a wide range of genres. Explore St. Mark’s Place, with its quirky shops and great street art, or visit Tompkins Square Park, a green oasis in the heart of East Village.

8. Chinatown

Step into another world in Manhattan’s Chinatown, where you can feel the Chinese culture and can eat lots of amazing food! This lively area with colourful decorated streets is a close-knit traditional community. Don’t forget to visit the numerous shops selling souvenirs or traditional Chinese goods.

9. Little Italy

This historic neighborhood was once the place of Italian immigration and still is the centre of Italian-American culture. You definitely need to try a cannoli from one of the local bakeries or maybe enjoy delicious Italian food at wonderful restaurants like Lombardi’s, the oldest pizzeria in the United States. Little Italy is also located near Chinatown and SoHo making it a perfect place to combine.

10. Harlem

Soulful music, famous jazz clubs and The Apollo Theater that is Harlem! Make sure to catch a Gospel show. Harlem is also home to a variety of soul food restaurants, where you can enjoy amazing soulfood like fried chicken and collard greens.
