1. Central Park
The green heart of New York City, Central Park is one of the most iconic parks in the world! Beside its beautiful nature you can visit the Central Park Zoo, strawberry fields or Belvedere Castle. Perfect on a sunny day? Picnicking or maybe join a skating group. This park is unique and has so much to offer so we have a special blog written about it.
2. Bryant Park
In Midtown Manhattan you find Bryant Park. This beautifully park with its green lawn, colorful flowerbeds, and shady trees is just perfect for a (lunch)break. You can sit on the grass, have a picnic, or just enjoy the sun. With its central location and lively atmosphere Bryant Park is one of our favorite parks.
3. Battery Park
At the southern tip of Manhattan you find Battery Park. With great views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York Harbor it is a nice park to bike through. The most popular activity you find here is taking a ferry to the Statue of Lady Liberty and Ellis Island.
4. The High Line
The High Line, New York City’s Elevated Green Oasis. It is a public park built on a historic freight rail line above the streets of Manhattan’s West Side. With its unique vibe this place is a must-visit for people who like walking around architectural buildings. And don’t forget to do some photography of hidden art along the way.
5. Brooklyn Bridge Park
Brooklyn Bridge Park gives you a great view of the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. Highlight of the park is Jane’s Carousel this is a great place to relax at the waterfront.
6. Hudson River Park
Hudson River Park is a waterfront park that runs from Battery Park to 59th Street in Manhattan. The Hudson River Greenway bike path is just great and there are many activities each summer. It is a long park great for sports, relaxing and even to grab some food.
7. Flushing Meadows-Corona Park
Go to Queens if you have extra time. Pay a visit to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park Unisphere or the Queens museum. During the weekends people come together for BBQ lunches and to play some soccer or baseball.
8. Riverside Park
Riverside Park runs along the Hudson River on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Highlights of the park include the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, the Hippo Playground, and the West Side Community Garden. It’s a great park for some running, cycling, and rollerblading.
9. Little Island Park
Along the Hudson River on Manhattan’s west side, this innovative park has a unique design. Little Island Park is known for its beautiful flower gardens, which creates a calm, peaceful and green space.
This is also the place to be for entertainment and cultural experiences. The park’s amphitheater hosts a variety of performances, including live music, theater productions, and dance shows.
10. Washington Square Park
Washington Square Park is a historic park in Greenwich Village, it has been the place for artists, musicians and activists for decades. Make sure to sit around Washington Square Arch for a while and do some people-watching.
